Wigan & Leigh People First is an independent user led self advocacy charity for people with Learning Disabilities. |

Self advocacy is about speaking up for ourselves. It is important, people with learning disabilities should be listened to |

We listen to what members have to say and campaign about the things that are important to them. |
 |
We have a weekly meeting that is open to any of our members. The meeting is on a Tuesday from 10am - 4pm. At the meetings we talk about any issues that are important to our members. We just ask for a small contribution of £2 each week to help cover some of our costs. |

Some of our members get involved in the day to day running of Wigan & Leigh People First. |

We try to make sure that people with learning disabilities are represented on as many local forums and decision making bodies as possible. |
